An overview of the mosquito killer and other insect control products and systems.
Most people look to get up to eight hours of sleep a night and this means the bed is a location in the home where people can spend a fair amount of time. For this reason most people want their bed to be clean and comfortable. However problems can occur, with bed bugs being a common example of this. Left untreated they have the potential to become a serious problem and using a bed bug spray is a way to eradicate these from your bed.
Bed bugs can be a common problem and in recent years there has been a resurgence in their numbers meaning that many people can be affected these days. They can cause a number of health problems with skin rashes and allergies being a couple of these. It can therefore be a good idea to treat the beds in your home on a regular basis and there are a number of bed bug spray products on the market for this purpose.
Bed bug sprays can come in a couple of different styles. There are toxic sprays which generally have some kind of pesticide included as a means of exterminating bed bugs. However, the occupants may have to leave the property while these are being used and the bed may be off limits for a night or two to safely allow the treatment to work and disperse. In many cases bed bugs have been shown to become tolerant to the pesticides in these types of bed bug spray and while they were common in the past they are typically less used these days.
The second style of bed bug spray is non toxic and uses natural products as a means of eliminating bed bugs. This is probably the more common style these days and has advantages in that the occupants typically do not have to leave the home and beds are available for use again soon after treatment. As they are non-toxic this type of spray can also be a better choice where children and pets are in a home.
If you intend to treat your home for bed bugs the options are generally to do this yourself or use a professional exterminator. If you decide to do the work yourself there are many sprays for bed bugs available on the market. When considering purchasing a spray it can be best to choose one that is registered with the Environment Protection Agency (EPA) as this will typically mean it has no ingredients that are considered to be harmful. For treating a mattress or other furniture where there is frequent human contact, a non-residual spray should be used as this typically kills the bed bugs on contact and disperses quickly.
There are a few bed bug sprays on the market that are considered to be effective. Steri-Fab Bed Bug Spray is one that gets good reviews. It costs around $16.50 for a 16oz bottle and is registered with the EPA. It is safe for use on mattresses and is non toxic, with treated furniture available for use again after around 15 to 20 minutes.
If you travel a lot and stay in hotels it can also be a good idea to carry bed bug spray with you. Sleeping in a hotel means that bed bugs can be picked up and brought home and treating a hotel bed before sleeping in it can be a good idea. Rest Easy Spray for Bed Bugs can be a good option for this. It is available in 2oz travel size bottles with three bottles costing around $17.
Bed bugs are not something that have to be lived with and as they can cause health problems it is common sense to deal with them. A bed bug spray used in conjunction with frequent vacuuming can be an effective way to eradicate them and keep your bed a more comfortable place to sleep.
